It wasn’t an easy decision to make - close the shop to have a mini break.
We had not closed at all during covid so we thought everyone would understand us taking a mini break. The phone has rung hot while we have been away which made us realise just how much we are thought of. How lucky are we to have customers, friends and family who wrap themselves around us and support us on the daily and weekly. Thank you. We didn’t have a Christmas shindig to say thank you this year but made donation to Friends with Dignity instead. We hope you’ll understand how important this is. Please do yourself a favour and search their great work. So as we near the beginning of a new year we have asked ourselves these questions: how can we be more, do less, be better, be different? A new menu? Different hours? Do less is about having a work-life balance which hasn’t been possible since covid. What about for you - have you experienced the same? A new menu has been rattling at the door for some time now. We invite you to post a message on our fb board, via Instagram, or here - what your favourite dishes are so they might stay on the menu. Some fun facts we shall leave you with: did you know that Mie mie and Willie have no sense of direction nor sense of distance. Makes for interesting adventures.

AuthorWe are a family of shopkeepers. We share our journey with the world, right from where we are. If we were to plot on a map where our family hails from, of course, the majority are from China and Indonesia, and now Australia, however we are still discovering the facts of our heritage so much is still unknown. We were raised in Darwin, Northern Territory, and when our ancestors arrived to Darwin, unfortunately, after the tropical cyclones Darwin is renowned for, a lot of our records disappeared. This journey we share is about documenting our lives now, for our next generations and also for providing the difference we want to make right now. Archives
